Wedding pictures hang around for a long time and you probably want to look your best. There are a few treatments that can get you there. Depending on your skin and what your goals are, you could start with a Chemical Peel. A Chemical Peel is great for getting rid of the top layer of dead skin on your face, and leaves you with brand new smooth skin. It takes a couple of days once it is applied and it will peel for 3-4 days, but when it is done you will love the way your skin feels!
Once you have gotten rid of the old skin you can start thinking about the next step. A Photofacial or IPL is a great treatment for getting rid of hyper-pigmentation and evening out your skin tone. It is also great for getting rid of spider veins on your face, and calming down Rosacea (if you happen to have it). It’s a laser procedure that leaves your face red and feels like you have a sunburn at first. Over the next couple of days the hyper-pigmentation will get darker until the spots flake off after about a week, leaving you with a much brighter complexion for those pictures! Another laser treatment available is called a Sublative Fractional or Fraxel. The goal of the Fraxel is to stimulate the collagen in your skin so that the skin tightens. Your face will be very red in the beginning, but after a couple of days that starts to go away and you can use make-up to hide what’s left. The collagen will start to work and over time it will make your skin tighter and help those fine lines to disappear!
But before you start any of this, it would be best to come in for a skin consultation about 4-6 months before the wedding. That way you can have a professional look at your skin and talk to you about what your goals are for getting ready for the wedding. What is important to you? It could be you might want to keep it simple and come in for some facials before the wedding. During a facial, in order to rejuvinate your skin and get it to glow, your skin will be cleansed, exfoliated (either with Microdermabrasion or Dermaplaning) as well as moisturized. And a clean, clear and well hydrated complexion can help your skin look younger. You should probably plan for one every 6 weeks.
We also offer an Oxygen Facial which you should have a day or two before the wedding. This specialized beauty treatment is designed to replenish the levels of oxygen and moisture in your skin, smoothing out wrinkles and making the face appear smoother and plumper. The effects only last a few days so it is a great last minute treatment before the big day!
